Gratitude and Grief, a Ritual and the Divine Feminine
A few days ago, Annette Garber was visiting Community of Peace and it was just delightful with her. She and Br. Stefan know each other for a few years now and one topic is very important for them - lament.
In this video, they explain a ritual we did at Community of Peace to honor our grief and gratitude, they talk about their connection to the divine feminine and about their daily life and their ways of dealing with grief.
Growing Oyster Mushrooms
One of our last WWOOFers (Evrim) showed us how to grow Oyster Mushrooms. They are so delicious and that is why we want to share the joy of growing mushrooms with you. Please let us know if you tried it yourself.

Sa Ha Sra Nam - Chanted Prayer
In this video you see a part of our evening prayer. Sometimes we sing in Sanskrit, an ancient Indian language which is the sacred language of Hinduism. The text "Sa Ha Sra Nam" can be translated with "a thousand names". "Namaste" means "I / we bow". In India the divine has a thousand names / faces and we bow before all of them.
Om Namah Shivaya - Chanted Prayer
In this video you see a part of our evening prayer. Sometimes we sing in Sanskrit, an ancient Indian language which is the sacred language of Hinduism. The Christian faith has a great emphasis on the masculine form of god. In the Hindu tradition the divine has all genders and this prayer focuses itself on the feminine form of the divine. "Om Namah Shivaya" means "We bow before you / the divine dance, called shiva". "Shanti, Shakti, Namaha" can be translated with "Peace, the divine feminine power, we bow".
Jesu Christe & Holy Spirit - Chanted Prayers
In this video you see a part of our evening prayer. Both songs are from the gospels and are sung all over the world. In the first song, we sing "Jesu Christe, adorote" what can be translated to "Jesus Christ, I adore you". The second song, Holy Spirit, is an ancient christian and hebrew prayer which directly comes from the psalms. It is not a polite prayer. It is a crying out for help.
Our Global Community
In this video we asked different people from all around the globe what Community of Peace means to them and how they would describe it. It is lovely to hear what they say.
